Tui Room Forest Walks

The Tui room has recently introduced Forest Walks into our programme planning. Attached is a reading outlining principles for effectively engaging children with nature. The Forest Walks have began with the transition to school group and we have chosen Central Park as our location to explore as it is the location of Moturoa Stream, the Awa we identify with. We plan to engage all children with learning experiences in nature taking into consideration individual learning needs and stages of development. Here is an information brochure by the Department of Conservation.

Supporting Children after Earthquakes

Kia Ora

We have increased our earthquake drills and the children are aware of what to do to keep safe during an earthquake.
