Tui Programme
may2016-1The children have shown a growing interest in role play, the children have been busy acting out their knowledge of doctors and nurses, doctors surgery and what props are needed, e.g. bed, phone, computer etc. If you have any resources relating to this topic and want to donate them to our tamariki, that would be greatly appreciated. The transition to school programme will also incorporate elements of this topic into their group. We will be examining the human body. The teachers will continue to observe the tamariki to see where and how this emergent interest evolves.

Playground update
The playground excavation starts on Monday 2nd May, the teachers and committee have been busy doing extensive research and planning.   The teachers and children are very excited and look forward to using our new playground.

Transition to school
Teacher Nat is delivering the new transition to school programme on Tuesday and Thursdays for 4.5 year olds.   Nat is doing an amazing job, Nat has done extensive research into the programme.   The children are thoroughly enjoying this extension time.  It is great to see the children extending their interests and enjoying new challenges and concepts. For those parents whose child/children are new to the transition programme, the planning and documentation board is situated near the back door in our main room. Please come and have a look, our tamariki are doing some awesome stuff.

Nat will be on Teaching experience from 2nd May for a month, while Nat is away Leonte’ and Meg will deliver the transition to school programme. Lyn will relieve in Nat’s position for the month.
